I’ve heard this for a long time, and yet for many years my response was to keep doing “it,” only with more personal sacrifice. Thinking that pleasing other people, or doing the “right” thing did not take me where I wanted to go. Now I enjoy the process of deciding what I want, and seeing that manifest in my life.
Anyway, today’s exercise is more about knowing what you really want. The recent exercises are all about designing the life is “so you.” Have fun with it!
This is pretty easy. It’s a fill-in-the-blank exercise, or more like “finish this sentence.” This exercise I got from Julia Cameron, author of tons of books, and a huge advocate of journal writing as a path to greater creativity.
Finish this sentence 3 – 5 times (or more).
