“Be genuine. Be remarkable. Be worth connecting with.” Seth Godin
It’s HERE. It’s bold. It’s free. It’s your chance to break through the corporate noisy clutter. This photo is Christina and me testing which ice cream flavors to include in the Engagement Email Challenge prize. Another tedious day at work. 🙂
Engagement. It’s not sharing information; it’s connecting and getting the right people involved.
Learning how to really engage any audience means…
- Your name comes up when leadership is needed.
- You use your imagination in a fresh way.
- People trust you even more.
- You become a more fascinating person.
- You get recognized in positive and unexpected ways.
As a valued World of Mixonian member, you’re not the one overtalking everyone in the meeting. In fact, you may shut down because the talkers are so unrelenting and you’re just beyond trying to get out all those solutions and ideas you know that could help. That is anti-engagement.
This Mixonian Engagement Email Challenge is an excellent opportunity for you to craft a different kind of message: a fun and professional Out of Office message that people actually read.
To participate in the Engagement Challenge, send me a copy of your fresh, creative Out of Office message by Wednesday, April 29, 6 pm.
You can tell an engaging story in a few sentences in your Engaging Out of Office Message. Be sure to include:
- the dates you’ll be gone
- who they should contact in the meantime
- a creative story of why you won’t be in the office
Here’s one example:
I am out of the office swimming with the manatees. I will not have access to my email until my return on Wednesday. If it is an emergency, please email my colleagues at ***. Otherwise, I will get back with you as soon as possible.
Photos of me and the manatees will circulate upon my return. 🙂
Or this one.
Thank you for writing. Even as you read these words I am battling Epic arctic temperatures in Wisconsin in order to progess toward my goal of changing what’s possible in patient care at *** Amazing, right!
If weather permits and if this Southern belle survives the sub-freezing temperatures, I’ll be back Thursday morning.
If you have an urgent training question, please email
Take care of your awesome self,
