2017 was another big year for us. The Mixonian celebrated it’s 8th birthday in April and hired its second employee in August.
In addition to my usual speaking engagements, I spoke at DisruptHR in both Charleston and Greenville (SC). I also got to kick off the Women in Defense Leadership Summit.
By the end of the year we added quite a few fascinating corporate clients, including our first educational sector client, The Meeting Street Schools.
I worked with a European client thanks to previous training project with a local tech company.
I partnered with College of Charleston Professional Development again to offer a workshop on Emotional Intelligence.
In my obsession to master accelerated learning, mini-workshops called Mixonian Learning Labs came to life. Click Mixonian Learning Labs Info for the dealio.
Favorite Things: Lessons Learned
When a project has been allocated insufficient resources and the operations manager seems clueless and deaf, it’s probably not going to end well. In the case of such a project that I worked on, a skilled project manager named came onboard and worked miracles.
Networking can be really fun if you look at it like you would a party.
Acupuncture and massage on a regular basis are great for improving your immune system.
Emotions are more important to influence that I had realized. Even though I knew emotions carry more weight than facts do in decision making.
Growth mindset is the defining quality of break-through leadership.
